Materia EB: colour as a design language

Transformad’s collection offers a contemporary interpretation of colour through a nature-inspired palette and a technical surface conceived to combine design, durability and performance.
In developing decorative surfaces for architecture, furniture and interior design, Transformad approaches finishes as an essential part of the overall project. Materia EB was born from this vision: an ultra-matt collection in which technology, texture and colour come together to open up new design possibilities.
The range features fourteen shades created by Sara Folch, spanning soft neutrals, greens and blues, earthy hues and deeper colours. A palette designed to work alongside different materials and styles, and capable of taking on different roles within a space, from a subtle backdrop to an element with a stronger visual presence.
Two settings featuring Materia Lago and Materia Siena show how this chromatic approach can be applied to very different environments while retaining a shared identity.

 

Lago: a dialogue between architecture and nature

In a kitchen located in a covered area that opens onto the garden, Materia Lago introduces a nuanced green that establishes a natural connection with its surroundings without literally replicating them.
Wood, mineral finishes, warm-toned ceramic flooring and a large stone table create an environment in which each material retains its own character. The clean-lined furniture introduces a serene shade that contributes to the overall balance of the composition.
Lago sits somewhere between botanical green and more mineral nuances. This quality makes it easy to combine with stone, wood, ceramics and warm surfaces, allowing the kitchen to become naturally integrated into the architecture while visually extending its relationship with the garden.

 

Siena: a warm tone for an intimate space

In the bathroom, Materia Siena offers a different interpretation of the same collection. Applied to the wall-mounted vanity unit, the colour brings depth and warmth to a space defined by ceramic coverings, light wood and finishes with a handcrafted appearance.
Inspired by shades reminiscent of earth, clay and natural pigments, Siena complements the warm palette of the room without creating a pronounced contrast. Its ultra-matt finish further softens its presence, helping to create a balanced and enveloping atmosphere.
Here, colour acts as a unifying element. Rather than standing out in isolation, it creates connections between the different materials and helps establish a sense of continuity particularly suited to a space associated with wellbeing.

 

Technology at the service of the surface

The aesthetic identity of Materia EB is underpinned by technical development based on EBC —Electron Beam Curing— technology, a curing system using an electron beam to create a high-performance surface.
Its ultra-matt appearance and organic feel are complemented by features particularly relevant to furniture and interior applications: high resistance, anti-fingerprint properties and thermal self-healing of superficial micro-scratches.
The collection can be used on both vertical and horizontal surfaces, enabling visual continuity across kitchens, bathrooms, furniture and a wide range of residential projects.
These properties are integrated without altering the visual perception of the material. Technology is placed at the service of a surface in which aesthetics, touch and performance respond to the same design philosophy.
